The engineering, explained.
Six years of getting it wrong, so you get it right.
Aarya has been building electric vehicle prototypes since 2019. Most of them failed. Battery packs that could not handle Indian heat, frames that did not balance once the pack went in, controllers that cut out under load.
Commander is what survived. Every subsystem below exists in its current form because an earlier version of it did not work.
Torque without a transmission.
The hub-mounted BLDC motor puts drive directly at the rear wheel. There is no chain, no belt and no gearbox, which means there is nothing between your throttle input and the road losing energy on the way.
Brushless construction means no brushes to wear out, quieter operation and a far longer service life than the brushed motors still fitted to cheaper vehicles. Peak output is available immediately and continuously, not at 6,000 rpm.
- 4 kW BLDC
- Hub drive
- 170 Nm
- Zero transmission loss
Why we chose the harder chemistry.
Lithium Iron Phosphate costs more per kilowatt hour than the alternatives and it weighs more. We use it anyway.
LiFePO4 has a fundamentally more stable cathode structure. It resists thermal runaway, tolerates high ambient temperatures without aggressive derating, and delivers several times the usable charge cycles of standard lithium-ion. In a country where a parked motorcycle can sit in 45 degree heat for eight hours, that is not a specification. It is the difference between a battery that lasts and a battery that does not.
- 4.4 kWh
- LiFePO4
- IP65 sealed
- 2.5-4 hour charge
Slowing down should not waste energy.
On a petrol motorcycle, braking converts your forward momentum into heat and throws it away. Commander converts a portion of it back into charge.
Every time you brake, the motor briefly runs as a generator and feeds current back into the pack. In dense city traffic, where you brake constantly, this measurably extends how far a charge takes you. It also reduces how often you replace brake pads.
The system watches itself.
The controller monitors temperature, voltage and current continuously. If it detects a thermal overload, a voltage drop or a subsystem fault, it does not shut down and leave you at the roadside. It enters limp mode, reduces power output to a safe level and displays a plain-language warning on the cluster so you can ride to a service point.
IP65 sealing protects the electrical architecture against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction.
